Steve Chamberlain
The driver of the year all came down to the wire on the last Championship race of the season. Coming into the final round, tied for first place with 48 points each was Jody and Steve Chamberlain, with Mark Taylor nipping at their heels, only 2 points behind!
Steve managed to grab pole on the qualifier after been the only man to go sub one minute on the full circuit. Following him on the grid was Ash, Pete and Jody.
During the main event Steve managed to pull away from the pack, and avoid the backmarkers to sail though the whole race in 1st position.
Ash, Pete, Mark and Jody all had a race within a race. Continually battled each other throughout, swapping position right up to the end.
So Winning the round, and the season to suit, Steve Chamberlain is our driver of the year for the 2008/2009 St Eval Racing Season.
Runners up were Jody (who finish round seven in 3rd place), and Mark Taylor (who finished round seven in 5th).
The 2009/2010 Season will commence in September 2009.
